In 2019, the Sacramento Library Foundation reported that about 40% of Sacramento County youth were reading at grade level.
Researchers have found that literacy is linked to accessibility to literature, specifically high interest and culturally relevant books.
With learning loss being a major Education issue due to the COVID-19 virus, it is our goal to provide free books to low income families in urban and rural areas within Sacramento County. And expand into Yolo & San Joaquin Counties in future years.
