MJD CREATES CURRICULUM TO MENTOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN SJUSD

10/1/2019

SACRAMENTO -MJ Designs Education Consulting is excited to announce its partnership with Project Optimism, Inc. to create a new elementary mentorship program for San Juan Unified School District in Sacramento, California.

MJD will be teaming up with partner PO to develop curriculum and lesson plans for elementary school mentorship program held after school hours. MJD will also be handling the program administration.

MJD CEO shares "Leaving my position as Operations Director at Project Optimism to develop my own company and take on a new job opportunity at a local college was a difficult choice. But it is great to be able to still collaborate with PO and do the curriculum work I love part-time through my own brand."

The new program is entitled POMS: Project Optimism Mentoring Sessions. The goal is to have the program fit seamlessly into Project Optimism's current portfolio of youth programs, and allow for MJD to continue to create original curriculum content as a local solution.

Once the program is over the partners will both have access to the curriculum to expand their programming throughout Sacramento. The program will serve 4th & 5th grade students at Carmichael Elementary and Starr King K-8.
