SACRAMENTO., CA - In October 2020, MJ Designs was designated as a Legacy Grantee for the Arden Arcade Black Child Legacy Campaign run out of The Mutual Assistance Network, which supports the North Sacramento neighborhoods of Del Paso Heights & Arden Arcade.
Despite the public Health Crisis and distance education MJD will be its literacy program, MJ's Goodreads & Traveling Library in a pop-up capacity in partnership with larger organizations at resource distribution events.

Over the Winter, MJD organized a community book drive, where local families donated gently worn, like new books for distributions. Books were then sorted, disinfected, and packaged for redistribution. Mini grant funds were used to purchase new children's books that highlighted multicultural themes, and visual representation, as well as books in Spanish.

Through our program, and 5 pop-up outreaches total during the 2020-2021 school, in the midst of the pandemic, we are pleased to share that we reached over 550 families, and provided over 800 books for home libraries!
We are looking forward to providing books during the summer months of 2021!
