MJD shares how to empower youth in new tdn book

SACRAMENTO - "You never know who you will meet through volunteering.' says MJD Founder & CEO Me'Lisa James.


In 2019, Trainer's Dynamics Network (TDN) will be publishing a book called 7 Keys to Empower Youth Leaders. The book will highlight best practices and case studies of community organizations across the country who youth in their respective communities.


The opportunity came up through Justin Maclin of Maclin Motivation, an active volunteer and supporter of Project Optimism. Before moving to the Sacramento area, Justin provided served as a youth mentor and motivational speaker for youth in different cities.


TDN was founded in 2018 by David Kitchen, MBA. The organization is a network of trainers and speakers who specialize in Team, Youth and Cyber Leadership. TDN provides workshops and seminars for schools, companies, organizations, & community group.


Maclin & MJD both having layered experience with youth decided to join together and speak on their previous work with youth, and their experience with Project Optimism Inc. Their contributions are featured in the chapter: "Empowerment through Optimism."

"To empower youth there must be authenticity and trust. Youth can tell when you are trying to hold power and authority over them. It is important for adults and directors to take a step back and become open to learning from youth."
